Coming Soon: New small group renewal features on account.kp.org
Renewing Kaiser Permanente small groups is getting easier. In addition to small group prospect quoting and new group enrollment, we will be introducing the following new renewal features for most of your small groups on account.kp.org:
- View renewal documents
- Generate alternate renewal quotes to compare changes to plan selection and assignment, census, rating type, and group contribution
- Request renewal plan changes
New features are being rolled out in a phased approach as we complete this transition. Your account team will provide additional details and resources to help you make the most of these new features as they become available.
Be sure to sign in or register today to get access to our tools before the launch of the new features.
Please note: if your group has a General Agent (GA), please continue to work through the GA for renewal processing.
Important information about some KPIF On-Exchange client communications
In late February a vendor partner that Kaiser Permanente contracts with experienced system issues resulting in delays in sending some KPIF health plan correspondence related to billing and enrollment, including binder payment letters, confirmation of enrollment letters, coverage termination letters, past due notices, and declined payment notices, for KPIF On-Exchange members in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
What action is Kaiser Permanente taking?
We are changing print vendors this month to ensure that our members receive timely communications.
You may have clients that are impacted, and we are taking the following actions to ensure your impacted clients do not lose coverage:
- Recent applicants who opted to be billed for their initial binder payment will have their due date extended to 3/31/24 to prevent cancellation of their application.
- Affected subscribers will have a “do not cancel” placed on their account until 3/31/24.
We will be sending an SMS to impacted applicants with a 3/1 or 4/1 coverage effective date telling them to contact us to make a payment.
SMS message to impacted applicants with a 3/1 effective date (sent on 3/13): Due to a system issue, we were unable to mail your payment reminder. To ensure you have coverage beginning 3/1, please contact us to complete the payment at 800-777-7902. We apologize for any inconvenience.
SMS message to impacted applicants with a 4/1 effective date (to be sent on 3/26): Due to a system issue, we were unable to mail your payment reminder. To ensure you have coverage beginning 4/1, please contact us to complete the payment at 800-777-7902. We apologize for any inconvenience.
What should I do?
Reach out to your clients who applied for KPIF coverage through the Exchange on or after 2/18 to confirm that they paid their initial payment online or advise them to contact KP at 800-777-7902 to make a payment to effectuate their coverage.
Connect with your clients who are KPIF On-Exchange members and ensure they have paid their monthly premium for March and April.
If your clients haven’t received communication from KP that they expected to and need help, contact our KPIF Broker Support teams at kpif@kp.org or 1-844-394-3978, option 1 for assistance.
