Information about the Key Bridge accident and getting care at Kaiser Permanente
Early this morning, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed after being struck by a large cargo ship. We know this is a challenging time emotionally and our thoughts are with the people of Baltimore and all our Kaiser Permanente members.
All Kaiser Permanente medical centers are open as scheduled. We do not expect any changes to medical center operations but will send updates as needed.
Kaiser Permanente members have access to mental health support, via apps, virtual care, and in-person appointments. These apps offer in-the-moment and ongoing support:
- Headspace Care: Provides 24/7 immediate 1-on-1 support for coping with common challenges
- MyStrength Complete: Offers teletherapy, telecoaching, and digital tools to help with stress, depression, and sleep
- Calm: Offers meditations, music, and more to support sleep and reduce stress
More information is available at kp.org/mentalhealthservices.
Members can also make an appointment with a therapist or psychiatrist. Our mental health providers help patients through phone visits, video visits, and in person.
If any Kaiser Permanente members need addiction or mental health-related crisis support, or are worried about someone else, they can call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 (TTY 711). If any members are unable to travel to a scheduled appointment or need Urgent Care, they can visit kp.org or call us at 800-777-7904 (TTY 711).
