New collaboration with Cigna HealthcareSM

Starting January 1, 2024, the Cigna Healthcare PPO Network* will replace First Choice Health Network and First Health Network outside of Kaiser Permanente states — making it more convenient for members on Added Choice®, Dual Choice, and PPO Plus plans to find care when they need it.

This network change applies to Oregon based groups only and does not apply to Washington groups.

What’s changing?

In addition to Kaiser Permanente providers, Oregon based group members can receive care from:

How we’re helping members and customers manage this transition

In October 2023, we sent a letter to Oregon based group members who have seen a provider in non-Kaiser Permanente states within the prior 12 months where that provider was not in the Cigna Healthcare PPO network. This letter advised them of the change and the need to seek a new provider within the Cigna Healthcare PPO Network to continue receiving in-network benefits.

A second letter will be sent in January 2024, and a final letter will be sent in April 2024. Kaiser Permanente Expert Advisors will also be reaching out to these members to help ensure they are aware of the change and can transition their care to a new provider within the Cigna Healthcare PPO Network.

All Oregon and Washington group members on Added Choice®, Dual Choice, or PPO Plus plans will receive new ID cards starting the end of November regardless of their employer’s 2024 renewal date. Oregon ID cards will reference the Cigna Healthcare PPO Network on the back of the ID cards.

Evidence of Coverage (EOC) Endorsements for the change in networks will be sent to Oregon based Employer groups and Subscribers starting in November 2023 and concluding in December 2023. The endorsements update the 2023 Added Choice®, Dual Choice, and PPO Plus EOCs that are in effect on 1/1/2024. Washington based Employer groups and Subscribers will not receive EOC endorsements.

We’ll update the Choice Products Microsite (kp.org/choiceproducts/nw) in December 2023 to reflect the change to the Cigna Healthcare PPO Network. Members will be able to indicate whether they are an Oregon Employer group member or Washington Employer group member and the site will direct them to applicable network information for their plan.
