Module 4
Seamless transitions and access to care

Switching health plans can be a major concern for your clients, and we understand the challenges that come with it. That’s why Kaiser Permanente takes a proactive approach, ensuring new members can easily access care, understand their benefits, and stay engaged in their health from day one.
Engaged members are healthier members
When members feel confident navigating their health benefits, they’re more likely to engage with their care early and often — leading to better outcomes and lower costs.
Our New Member Welcome experience provides step-by-step guidance so members can easily navigate their new plan.
Continuity of care is carefully planned to keep treatments on track, avoiding gaps in prescriptions or care.
A wide range of mental health support options keeps members engaged in their well-being beyond onboarding.
Onboarding that drives engagement from the start
Kaiser Permanente’s New Member Welcome experience helps your clients’ employees feel confident in their plan from day one, giving them the tools and support they need to take charge of their health.
During onboarding, members are encouraged to:
- Learn how to get care in person or virtually to avoid delays
- Register on kp.org to easily manage appointments, prescriptions, and health records
- Transfer prescriptions seamlessly to a Kaiser Permanente pharmacy for uninterrupted care
