Announcing our new collaboration with Cigna for Flexible Choice and PPO Plans
We are excited to share the details of our new collaboration with Cigna. Starting January 1, 2023, Flexible Choice and Out-of-Area PPO plan members will have access to Cigna’s PPO Network outside of Kaiser Permanente states—making it more convenient for them to find care when they need it.1,2,3 The Cigna PPO Network will replace members’ PHCS & MultiPlan Network outside of Kaiser Permanente states. Members will still be able to get care from PHCS & MultiPlan Network providers within Kaiser Permanente states.
With the Cigna PPO Network, members will get:
- More locations: With a broad network of providers, they’ll have many options for care.
- Simple check-in: In December, members will receive an updated member ID card with the Cigna logo. They’ll just show it at their visit.
- Lower cost: Thanks to lower contracted rates, members will pay less for many services with a coinsurance.
- Less paperwork: Cigna providers will get any necessary precertifications for care, so members don’t have to.
Groups with a Flexible Choice or Out-of-Area PPO plan will receive an email this week with information about this change, and members will receive a letter this month.
