Dual Choice PPO plans for customers in Washington state

After launching our new Dual Choice PPO product in Oregon last year, we are excited to announce that mid-size customers in Washington state are able to purchase Dual Choice products for plans beginning 6/1/22.

With a Kaiser Permanente Dual ChoiceTM plan as part of our Complete SuiteTM portfolio, your clients’ employees have more choices for where they can receive care, and your clients get the convenience of working with a single health care provider for all their employee benefits administration.

Dual Choice offers something no other PPO plan can offer: Nationwide PPO network coverage via Kaiser Permanente and First Choice/First Health Network providers. That means more choice for employees, who can continue to see their current provider, or experience all that Kaiser Permanente has to offer, including:

  • access to more than 1,200 Kaiser Permanente doctors and specialists in Oregon and Southwest Washington
  • highly skilled and rigorously trained care teams working together to provide the right care at the right time and place
  • convenience of doctors, dentists, pharmacy, lab, X-ray, and more under one roof at most facilities
  • a broad range of digital tools, guidance and support, and self-service resources to help members stay on top of their health

Lower cost shares with enhanced benefits

Some in-network providers, including Kaiser Permanente, have lower cost shares for primary care, urgent care, specialty care, routine eye exam visits, and mental health and chemical dependency outpatient services. This is referred to as an enhanced benefit.

Enhanced benefits provide financial incentive for your employees to choose highest quality, most efficient providers, which also helps keep premiums predictable and sustainable over the long-term.

Onboarding support for employers and employees along the way

We’ll help make the implementation process smooth and seamless, while providing exceptional customer service. Installation Consultants will work with you and your clients to answer questions and help onboard. Expert advisors will help new employees/members understand plan features and how to take advantage of their benefits.

Kaiser Permanente Dual Choice plans

Dual Choice PPO plans were previously only available to midsize groups (51-499 eligible employees) headquartered in Oregon. These plans will now be available to new and renewing midsize groups in Oregon and new/returning midsize groups in Washington with renewal effective dates on or after 7/1/22 who choose Kaiser Permanente as a sole-carrier health plan partner.
